This section addresses frequently asked questions relating to eligibility, required materials, and the submission process. Applicants are encouraged to consult this page to ensure clarity and full compliance with Premju Galizia 2025 requirements.
Does Premju Galizia recognise only architects?
No. The awards are designed to recognise excellence across the full spectrum of the Perit profession and its collaborators. Premju Galizia honours projects, not individuals. It acknowledges the collective effort behind each work, including architects, civil engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, restoration specialists, and other consultants.
Each submission must clearly define the roles of all team members, highlighting the multidisciplinary nature of the built environment.
Who can submit a project?
Anyone may submit a project. The submission representative does not need to be the lead designer, a Perit, or even part of the design team. However, the person submitting is responsible for gathering all necessary consents, ensuring the submission is complete, and serving as the point of contact throughout the process. The award is given to the project and its team, not the individual submitter.
Can a previously submitted project be resubmitted?
Yes, as long as the project was not previously shortlisted or awarded. It must still meet all current submission criteria and be resubmitted under the 2025 regulations.
What must each submission include?
An online form (completed via the Premju Galizia website)
Project team Excel file (template provided)
Jury Slide Deck (a single static PDF)
Media Files (PNG or JPEG format)
Executive Summary (~500 words in Word format)
Proof of payment (PDF under 2MB)
All uploaded to a non-expiring cloud link (Google Drive, Dropbox)
Where do I find the required templates and folder structure?
All templates and the folder structure can be downloaded from:
https://premjugalizia.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/ELGA25-_SubmissionTemplate_20250820.zip
How should the folders be organised?
Use the provided .zip folder template. Each folder corresponds to one component of the submission and must be maintained exactly as provided. Do not rename folders. The structure allows the jury and organisers to process submissions efficiently.
What is the difference between the Jury Slide Deck and the Media Files?
The Jury Slide Deck is a static PDF used exclusively by the jury. It should be formatted in 1920×1080 pixels, contain a clear narrative, and include project rationale, process, team organigram, drawings, and images. Videos are not allowed.
The Media Files are separate images, uploaded individually in high-resolution PNG or JPEG format. These are used for promotional and publishing purposes if the project is shortlisted. File names must include the appropriate credits. A total of 4 to 10 completed project images and up to 10 architectural or technical drawings should be included.
Both the Jury Slide Deck and Media Files are mandatory and must be placed in their respective folders in the submission structure.
How do I fill in the Organigram and Team Excel file for project-based awards?
Use the ELGA25_ProjectTeam.xlsx template.
Include each professional role listed.
If a role was not relevant, write “Not Required” or “N/A.”
If the same person filled multiple roles, list them accordingly.
For projects with different commissions handled by different studios, clearly state the division of roles. In such cases, no lead Perit is required.
Add new rows for roles not included in the original template.
The Jury Slide Deck must visually reflect the same organigram represented in the Excel file.
How do I complete the Excel file for the Emerging Practice Award?
Use the ELGA25_EmergingPractice.xlsx file.
List only the Periti who are part of the practice. Do not include external collaborators. The aim is to demonstrate the make-up and capacity of the practice, not its external networks.
Do all listed Periti need to be Kamra members?
Yes. All Periti listed in the submission must be fully paid-up members of the Kamra tal-Periti for 2025. This is a condition of eligibility. Failure to meet this requirement may result in disqualification. Submission fees are non-refundable.
How should I represent the project in the Jury Slide Deck?
For project-based awards, the Jury Slide Deck must provide a clear and concise narrative. It should explain:
What the project is: include title, location, and scope
Who worked on it: include roles and names, matching the Excel file
Why it matters: explain the design approach and decisions made
How it was resolved: show relevant drawings, photos, and technical material
There is no design template. The structure is flexible, but all required content must be included. Only static content is allowed—no videos.
How should I represent the practice for the Emerging Practice Award?
The slide deck should tell the story of the practice, not just its projects. Include:
The ethos and direction of the practice
Completed projects with images to support your narrative
The role the practice played in each project (but not external collaborators)
There is no limit on the number of images for this category, but the slide deck must still be a single static PDF.
What is the fee per submission?
Each submission costs €200. If a project is submitted in more than one category, each submission must be made separately and paid for individually.
How is payment handled?
Payment must be made via bank transfer.
Upload the proof of payment as a PDF (under 2MB) through the online submission form.
Ensure the file is clearly named and accessible.

What are the criteria for shortlisting?
Projects are evaluated based on the eight Davos Baukultur quality criteria, which include 8 qualitative assessment criteria.
Each submission is reviewed by eight international jurors who score individually using scorecards. The top three scoring projects in each category are shortlisted.
Who is on the jury?
The jury includes international professionals from diverse backgrounds—academics, technologists, established practitioners, and partners in architectural offices. Two local representatives from I+A (Artistic Directors) will join as non-voting members to provide local context where necessary.
What happens if a project is shortlisted?
Shortlisted applicants will be notified privately and publicly announced on 6th October 2025. They must then:
Prepare a poster for the public exhibition
Present their project live on 24 October 2025 at Villa Bighi
If we are shortlisted, how long do we have to prepare the poster?
Approximately one week will be given between shortlisting notification and the poster deadline. Final guidelines will be issued upon confirmation.
Can videos be included at any stage?
Videos are not permitted during the initial submission or jury evaluation. However, they may be used during the live finalist presentations. Use your time carefully, as the schedule will be tight.
What is the purpose of the live presentation?
The live presentations are free of charge and open to the public with the intention being to raise awareness of the profession’s value. They allow Periti to showcase their work to peers and the broader community.
The live presentations will be held on Friday 24th October 2025, 0900hrs – 1700hrs, Main Hall, Villa Bighi
When is the awards ceremony?
The ceremony will take place at Villa Bighi on Saturday 25 October 2025, the day after the live presentations.
