Submission Guidance & Clarifications

This section addresses frequently asked questions relating to eligibility, required materials, and the submission process. Applicants are encouraged to consult this page to ensure clarity and full compliance with Premju Galizia 2025 requirements.

Does Premju Galizia recognise only architects?

No. Premju Galizia 2025 is structured to recognise excellence across the full spectrum of the Perit profession and related collaborators.

The Awards honour projects, not individuals, and acknowledge the collective effort behind each submission—this includes architects, civil engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, restoration specialists, and other consultants who contribute meaningfully to the realisation of the work.

Each submission must identify the roles of the full team involved, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of the built environment.

What is the difference between the Jury Slide Deck and the Media Files?

Both the Jury Slide Deck and Media Files are required components of your submission, but they serve different purposes:

Jury Slide Deck

  • Prepared as a single PDF with a 1920x1080px slide format
  • Used exclusively by the jury during evaluation
  • Tells a narrative: project rationale, process, context, technical drawings, and completed photography
  • No videos allowed

Media Files

  • Separate image files uploaded to a cloud folder
  • Required formats: PNG or JPEG at 600 DPI
  • Includes:
    • 4–10 completed project images
    • Up to 10 architectural/technical drawings
  • Used for promotion and publishing if shortlisted
  • File names must include credits

These files must be structured using the downloadable submission template folder, available at www.premjugalizia.org/terms, and uploaded via a non-expiring cloud link.

How do I fill in the Project Organigram and Team Excel file?

The Organigram should be completed in the respective Excel sheets found in the template folder structure. The ELGA25_ProjectTeam.xlsx is required for all core categories, including the Unbuilt Projects Award, whilst the ELGA25_EmergingPractice.xlsx should be used for the Emerging Practice Award.

Project-based Awards

  • Include each relevant professional role (listed in the template)
  • If a role was not required, state “Not Required” or “N/A”
  • If the same Perit occupied multiple roles, list them accordingly
  • If the submission is for different commissions on the same project (e.g., architecture by one studio and interiors by another), no overall lead is required—just state this clearly
  • Any roles that are not listed in the template shall be included by adding new rows and completed accordingly
  • A submission representative is required for communication purposes but does not imply project/award ownership

Emerging Practice Award

  • Use the dedicated Excel sheet for this category
  • List all Periti forming part of the practice only
  • Professionals with whom the practice collaborated on any project are not relevant in the Excel Sheet

In all cases the organigram represented in the Jury Slide Deck should represent the organigram represented in the submitted Excel File.

How do I represent the Project in the Jury Slide Deck for Project-based Awards?

The Jury Slide Deck should present a clear and concise narrative of the project. Use it to communicate:

  • What the project is – title, location, and scope.
  • Who worked on it – include the project team and their roles, matching the Excel file.
  • Why it matters – explain the design approach, challenges addressed, and decisions made.
  • How it was resolved – show drawings, images, and key details.

You are free to structure the slides as you wish, as long as you include:

  • The required minimum content (project title, executive summary, brief, team/organigram, drawings, and images).
  • A clear narrative that helps the jury understand the value and relevance of the work.

Include only static imagery – no videos.

How do I represent the practice in the Jury Slide Deck for the Emerging Practice Award?

Unlike project-based categories, the Emerging Practice Award focuses on the team itself:

  • Build a narrative about the practice’s ethos, direction, and contribution
  • Include images from completed projects to support this story
  • Clearly indicate the role the practice played in each project
  • No need to list external collaborators—focus on the practice
  • You may include more content than the image limits outlined for Media Files, as the Jury Slide Deck is unrestricted
  • Include only static imagery – no videos.

If we apply for the Emerging Practice Award, does the practice need to be a Periti partnership?

The awards is open to all kinds of setups. When completing the Excel Sheet consider the below:

    • If not a partnership, list “N/A” under Partnership Warrant
    • Practice Name should reflect how the studio presents itself publicly

Do all team members need to be paid-up members of Kamra tal-Periti?

While anyone may submit a project for consideration, all Periti listed in the submission must be fully paid-up members of Kamra tal-Periti for the year 2025. This is a condition of eligibility.

Failure to meet this requirement may result in disqualification. Please note that submission fees are non-refundable.
